He said he wanted to help me invest
Money scam · Hinge · United States
I met him on Hinge in Chicago. He never came in like a loud salesman. He acted calm, thoughtful, almost protective. He said most people kept their money sitting still because nobody had ever shown them better options.
At first it was just conversation. Then screenshots. Then trading apps. Then stories about how he had helped friends make easy money from crypto. He told me to start small so I could see how it worked without stress. That is what made it dangerous. It felt measured and sensible, not reckless.
Once I put money in, the fake balance started rising fast. When I tried to withdraw, suddenly there were verification issues, release fees and processing delays. Every solution required more money. That was when I finally understood the whole thing had been built to look safe on purpose.
