The friendly investor from LinkedIn was a complete setup

I first heard from him on LinkedIn in London. His profile looked excellent. Good headshot, polished job title, real sounding company, mutual contacts. We started by talking about work and then the conversation drifted into money and long term plans.

He made everything sound generous rather than pushy. He said most people never got ahead because nobody explained the right systems to them properly. Then he started sending screenshots of returns, polished dashboards and examples of what a small starting amount could become.

I almost trusted him because it did not look sloppy. That was exactly the point. The platform he sent me to turned out to be a fake copy of a real one. Everything had been built to feel one step more legitimate than a normal scam.
